Practical Precision

ACCURATE WHERE IT MATTERS MOST

We take a practical engineering approach to quality. Most of our work is produced to sensible engineering tolerances, with tighter features treated carefully where fit, concentricity, assembly or function are critical.

We do not overcomplicate quality, but we do take it seriously. The aim is simple: make the part correctly, check the important features properly and avoid rework wherever possible.

CHECKED AT THE RIGHT STAGES

Our inspection approach is based on understanding the job, checking the first part properly and maintaining control throughout the batch.

Drawing Review

We look at the drawing, material, tolerances and functional requirements before deciding the best route to manufacture.

First-Off Checks

The first component is carefully checked and dialled in using suitable measuring equipment before batch work continues.

In-Process Control

Once stable, batch work is checked at sensible intervals to monitor dimensions and keep parts consistent.

Final Confidence

Key features are checked so the finished component has the best chance of fitting and working correctly first time.

Equipment & Methods

PRACTICAL INSPECTION FOR REAL COMPONENTS

We use suitable inspection equipment and machine-based checks to control the features that matter.

Mitutoyo Micrometers

Micrometers are used heavily for accurate dimensional checks, particularly when dialling in first-off components.

Renishaw Probing

Our Doosan DNM4500 machining centres are fitted with Renishaw probing to support setup, positional checks and process control.

Fit & Function

We pay close attention to features that affect assembly, push fits, concentricity and how the part will work in service.

Engineering Awareness

GOOD ENGINEERING IS NOT JUST HITTING DIMENSIONS

A component can be technically within tolerance and still not be right for the job. That is why we focus on understanding how the part is used, what it fits with and which features are genuinely critical.

This is especially important for reverse engineered parts, rail components, obsolete items and repair work where drawings may be incomplete or where the part has to work with existing equipment.

Materials & Repeat Work

TRACEABILITY WHEN REQUIRED

We can provide 3.1 material certification where required and can work with customer-specified materials, supplied materials or materials sourced through our own suppliers.

For repeat work, we retain drawings and, where useful, retain machining programs to support repeatability and reduce setup time on future batches.
